Unicorn Play Club Policy on Use of Mobile Phones and Cameras
Child Safety and Staff Mobile Phone Use
The safety and well-being of every child attending Unicorn Play Club is our highest priority. We are committed to safeguarding all children in our care and have clear procedures to maintain their protection at all times.
Staff members are permitted to keep their mobile phones with them during sessions. This is primarily to manage session music and to ensure they can respond quickly in case of emergencies, medical situations, or to stay in contact with the management team.

Mobile Phones and Smart Watches for Staff
To ensure children receive full attention, staff are expected to remain focused on their duties throughout sessions. While phones may be kept switched on for urgent calls, personal use during sessions is discouraged.
Staff may wear smart watches (e.g., Apple Watch), but personal use of these devices during sessions is not permitted. All staff have a responsibility to be alert to any inappropriate use of personal devices and must report concerns to the management team immediately.
Management reserves the right to review the content of staff mobile devices if there is suspicion of misuse. If inappropriate material is found, the Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) and the police will be informed without delay, and relevant safeguarding procedures will be followed, which may include dismissal.

Use of Mobile Phones and Cameras by Parents and Visitors
Parents and visitors are welcome to use their mobile phones to take photos of their own children during sessions. However, we kindly ask that no other children are included in these photographs to respect everyone’s privacy.
